The Department of Physics is seeking one, possibly two tenured track Assistant Professors (appointment at higher ranks is possible for exceptional candidates). Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field, postdoctoral experience, a record of substantive research, and a demonstrated interest in high quality instruction at all levels. Preference will be given to applicants with research programs in astrophysics or in theoretical/computational condensed matter physics (including fluids). Candidates in other areas of departmental activity will also be considered. These include: atmospheric physics: atomic and molecular physics; computational biophysics; material physics; optics and spectroscopy; remote sensing; statistical physics (see http://www.phy.mtu.edu/).
