The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Louisiana State University in Baton
Rouge invites applications for an anticipated tenure-track, assistant
professorship in multiwavelength observational astronomy and/or theory related
to the interpretation of such observations, starting August 2003. While we
expect to make an appointment at the assistant professor level, exceptionally
qualified candidates may be considered for a more senior position. Candidates
are expected to have an established record in observations with modern
instrumentation at two or more of the following wavebands: optical-infrared,
X-ray/gamma-ray, radio-mm, EUV-UV. Experience in both ground-based and
space-based observations is desirable. The successful candidate is expected to
teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in both physics and
astronomy and establish a vigorous research program. Applicants must have a
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics, astronomy, or a related field. Salary
will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants should send
